The Artist

My name is Aubrey, and I’m the owner of Dendros Woodcraft. I grew up as the second of five children – a creative kid, on a hobby farm in Alberta, Canada. My parents both modeled a strong work ethic, and growing up in the country it became part of my nature to work with my hands.

I realized as I was leaving high school that it would be tricky to make a living through ‘art’, and after working in a greenhouse tree-lot and landscaping I found my way to apprenticing as a cabinetmaker. Fast forward to today, and my path has taken me through becoming a Red Seal Certified Journeyman Cabinetmaker in 2011, and later to teaching cabinetmaking for five years at Red River College in Manitoba, Canada, while earning two teaching certifications.

The passion to create has always stayed with me, and wood has become my medium of choice. I love its warmth, its spectrum of colours, and the beauty that was born from the life of the tree.

Dendros Woodcraft is my effort to form treasures that will hold your memories and help you create new ones.
